The firm's founder, Jody Portuese, graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. But a shift in career plans took her back to college. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University. Her professional experience with corporations in Wichita and Manhattan have grounded her management strategies in the real world. In 1990, Ms. Portuese realized a dream when she organized Bluestem Financial Management. The firm allows her to use her strong educational and practical background to assist business owners in the most effective management of their financial resources. In addition to consulting on financial matters and preparing financial statements, Ms. Portuese assists clients in a broad range of arenas.
